2023 John Deere Territory Tech of the Year

South Country Equipment is incredibly proud to be the home of the 2023 John Deere Territory Technician of the Year, Stan Dundas!

Stan has lived in the Regina area since 1992, with a lifelong passion for agriculture and the equipment. On his family farm he worked closely with his dad, intrigued by all the moving parts of each piece of machinery. It was his dad that steered Stan in the direction of the Agriculture Machinery Technician course at Polytechnic in Saskatoon.

He has nearly 40 years in the trade yet is still one of our most trusted technicians when it comes to the newest technology requiring in depth diagnostics. Yes, he knows everything you would ever want to know about the hydraulic system on a vintage 4020, but he also knows how to diagnose the most complex electrical problem on a 9RX 640 and everything in between. Where some technicians of his vintage have decided to avoid technology, he has chosen to embrace it, constantly continuing his product specific education throughout the years while fine tuning his diagnostic capabilities.

“I have watched the equipment revolve from what I thought was very technical when I started riding around on a 5010 John Deere in 1968, to where it is today, and I’m always waiting for the new technology to be introduced, so I can still try to figure out how it works and learn again, just like when I was a kid”. – Stan Dundas

Our customer base has trusted Stan for years and rely on him to keep them going. He is beyond willing to go the extra mile for our customers and is always willing to work extra hours to help a customer in need. Stan has always been more of a lead by example type of guy, setting the standard for hard work and dedication.

Additionally, he helped coach his kids’ sports teams when they were young, was heavily involved with the Pilot Butte Rodeo, and is a Lion’s Club member where he has held the President’s position for several terms. He does work lots of hours for us which limits his availability for these types of activities, but still manages to find the time to help out.
